Company: Penguin Random House LLC Requisition ID: 20444 Associate, Sales Planning and Analysis Vintage and Anchor Books is seeking an Associate to join their publishing team. The Associate will report to the Senior Director, Sales Planning and Business Development and play a key role in the process of bringing our books to market. The position is an opportunity to gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of the publishing process and an in-depth education on the book marketplace. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, inquisitive, self-motivated, and analytical book lover. Duties: * Create consumer and sales analysis reports for use with marketing, publicity, and/or sales teams * Identify sales patterns and trends for use in marketplace planning * Manage and create materials for publisher spans and sales meetings * Run reports supporting inventory forecasting planning * Help develop online title catalogues to be used by sales force and accounts * Field day-to-day requests from reps and sales management * Review metadata for compliance with SEO best practices * Coordinate Vintage / Anchor participation in BEA * Assist in research related to developing potential partnerships Requirements: * College Degree or equivalent experience * 2-4 Years in Book Publishing or equivalent experience * Strong attention to detail * Excellent communication skills * Ability to work independently on projects and, once assigned, initiate next steps in a self-directed manner * Established skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) * Familiarity with the book retail market * Understanding of basic SEO principles * Knowledge of or ability to learn inventory and sales reporting systems such as SAP, Business Objects, and Nielsen Bookscan * Knowledge of or ability to learn social and consumer analysis tools such as Brandwatch and AudienceView Penguin Random House is the leading adult and children's publishing house in North America, the United Kingdom and many other regions around the world.
