This individual will establish a vision and drive strategy for the company's retail search advertising campaigns across a variety of retailers. Reporting directly to the SVP of Online & Digital Sales, the Director will also collaborate with employees across all areas and levels within Penguin Random House while executing and revising strategies to meet the changing needs and opportunities in the marketplace. Specifically, this position will work to: * Develop the framework, tools, analysis and reporting structure required to launch a high volume of retail search campaigns with the goal of maximizing ROI. * Execute tests, analyze data, and identify trends in order to achieve ROI goals and inform strategy. * Work with departments across Penguin Random House to identify and pursue online retail marketing revenue generation opportunities. * Effectively communicate key data points to stakeholders with recommended action. * Monitor competitive activity and make recommendations. * Manage relationship and communication with external agency. * Supervise and oversee the work of Online Retail Marketing Assistant. Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements: * Minimum of 7 years of digital advertising/marketing or online sales experience; experience within the publishing industry is a plus * Prior experience working with and a strong understanding of advertising metrics and performance marketing * Proven analytical skills and comfort working closely with numbers * An independently motivated thinker with the ability to successfully balance multiple priorities and drive projects forward * High proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel including pivot tables, formulas, and v-lookups * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Previous experience developing and implementing workflows from the ground up * Ability to create and communicate effectively via presentations and other data visualizations * Ability to work effectively with employees across all levels of an organization * Prior experience in Amazon Marketing Services, search marketing, and/or price-per-click advertising is a plus * Proficiency in Power BI or similar business intelligence software is a plus
