You'll be one of six generalists who service the NY publishing offices and you'll be responsible for approximately 400 employees. You will need to show us a proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with all levels of staff and we'll need to see that you are an effective problem solver with a positive outlook. Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Advises and counsels managers and employees within assigned client groups on performance management and other HR issues. * Manages recruitment for assigned client groups. This includes recruitment and interviewing as necessary as well as overseeing the recruitment handled for these groups by a Recruiter and Assistant. Ensures that open headcounts and hires are within budgetary limits and that salaries are appropriate. Assesses and advises on departmental structures and needs. * Investigates and resolves complex employee relations matters, including liaising with legal counsel when necessary. * Advances diversity and inclusion efforts within client groups in partnership with PRH Diversity and Inclusion Council, divisional diversity and inclusion committees and divisional leadership. * Ensures compliance with federal and state employment regulations as well as internal policies and procedures. * Supervises (jointly with one other generalist) a shared Recruiter and shared HR Assistant. Is jointly responsible for their training, direction and development. * Regularly partners with the Learning & Development Team and the Compensation Team on the development and/or implementation of various programs, projects and initiatives. * Regularly liaises with the Benefits Department on leaves and other benefits-related issues. * Partners with divisional leadership and Business Managers in the development of salary, merit and bonus recommendations. * Leads and/or participates in various departmental projects. Required Experience and Skills * Minimum of 6 years Human Resources experience * Above experience must include extensive Employee Relations work as a primary practitioner and not only in a support role * Above experience must include extensive Sourcing, Recruiting and Interviewing * Prior supervisory experience * Excellent knowledge of federal and state employment laws * Proven record of can-do, "roll up your sleeves" performance * Ability to speak effectively to both large and small groups * Excellent business writing skills Preferred Qualifications Professional HR qualification such as PHR or SPHR preferred
