Company: Penguin Random House LLC Requisition ID: 20968 Publicity Assistant, Random House Children's Books Random House Children's Books seeks a Publicity Assistant to join its Publicity team. This person will assist the VP, Executive Director, Publicity & Corporate Communications and Executive Director, Publicity with day-to-day administrative support, support on major PR campaigns, and also manage author relations and media/events support for assigned titles under supervision. Our ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to work independently as well as collaboratively, pay close attention to detail, and demonstrate a strong passion to work in children's book publicity and corporate communications. The ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work externally with authors/illustrators, members of the press and booksellers; as well as manage internal communication across departments. This position requires a high-level of outward facing communication for the division. Responsibilities Include: * Extensive administrative support for the Publicity Department including but not limited to organizing meetings and calls, distribution of news clips, bestseller information, invoices, tracking reviews, mailings, set-up of in-house events etc. * Support senior publicity staff on PR campaigns for high profile authors/illustrators, with administrative responsibility associated with national author tours, event itineraries, and travel and event logistics. * Liase with trade media publications for calls-for-info, review copy requests, and various other seasonal information needs. * Arrange author events including local bookstore appearances and book festival appearances. * Communicate with authors regarding promotional plans and serve as a main point of contact for them. * Write materials for press kits including press releases, pitches and Q&As. * Various regular email communications out to the department and division. * Research and seek out new media outlets for promotion of our books, brands, authors and illustrators. * Performs other related projects or duties as assigned by department. * Respond to general queries submitted to the Publicity Department via email / phone.
