Penguin Random House is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the Penguin Random House Publisher Services sales team. This department sells all client titles, including National Geographic, DC Comics, and Rizzoli, into major retail, digital, and jobber accounts. The Assistant will work to ensure all client titles are communicated effectively to the National Accounts and Field Sales teams and will provide sales support to the Barnes & Noble and Ingram National Account Managers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn about a variety of key accounts in the book publishing industry. Specific responsibilities include: * Creating and maintaining the annual Master Client Title Grid, which captures all aspects of each title and ensures the title is accurately positioned for the sales team. * Assisting in creating account sell-in kits and communicating with various internal departments to obtain selling materials. * Preparing and submitting daily Barnes & Noble pre-orders and orders. * Reviewing estimates and initials prior to title releases. * Managing the Barnes & Noble co-op, uploading all co-ops into an internal database, and making any adjustments to booked co-ops. * Managing the pricing promotion process, assisting with weekly final binds, and reviewing change memos. * Creating a monthly market share report and generating a weekly POS report. * Providing general administrative support, including calendar maintenance, preparing weekly staff meeting agendas, executing book mailings to buyers, answering phones and taking messages, etc. Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements: * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work well under pressure * Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time * Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines * Superb analytical and critical thinking skills * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Salary for this position is $40,000.
