Penguin Random House LLC Senior Production Manager/Assistant Director of Production in New York, New York

Penguin Random House is seeking a Senior Production Manager or an Assistant Director of Production to manage the production and manufacturing of Avery and Putnam hardcover titles. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that books are produced within budget, delivered on time, and are of the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive 4/C experience, possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and can creatively problem solve in order to meet strict deadlines. Specific responsibilities include: * Consulting with each publishing group to develop the specifications and schedules for individual titles. * Negotiating schedules with the internal publishing teams and with external vendors. * Issuing purchase orders for each assigned title and approving necessary costs and invoices. * Executing 4C prep, color correction and manufacturing with domestic and foreign vendors. * Trafficking materials and proof passes internally and to and from outside vendors. Minimum Requirements * Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with 4/C prep and 4/C manufacturing, domestic and off shore * Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment * Strong estimating skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Excellent organization skills and attention to detail * Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook * Knowledge of SAP, FileMaker Pro, InDesign, and Photoshop a plus * Ability to travel up to 5% of the time via car or train Please apply using our online application process, and please include your resume and cover letter with salary requirements.
